Justice Desk Africa is an award-winning proudly-African human rights organisation, founded in 2013. We exist to help realise a self-reliant, thriving, and non-violent African continent — led by conscious, active citizens who boldly uphold and defend the human rights of all.

 

Our mission is to empower and equip everyday people to lead the fight for justice, transforming their communities and building a just, thriving Africa. We believe that the everyday person knows their community best and is uniquely placed to challenge the injustices that affect them. When everyday people rise as Human Rights Defenders, they become the driving force of sustainable and impactful change.

 

We do this through educating, equipping, and empowering — giving local people the tools, skills, knowledge, and platforms they need to lead their own change. Our work focuses on three key areas:
 

• Human Rights Education – ensuring people understand and can claim their rights.

• Protecting Children’s Rights – safeguarding and defending Africa’s next generation.

• Addressing Gender-Based Violence – challenging harmful systems and promoting equality.

 

Through community-led programmes, training initiatives, and national and international advocacy, Justice Desk Africa stands alongside everyday activists across the continent as they boldly defend the dignity and rights of all.
